The expansive town site of Cameron as it appeared in 2015. The land is now owned by Newmont Mining Corporation. Jan MacKell Collins .

The quaint buildings and fancy log fence at Pinnacle Park were eventually torn down. For years, the logs lay in a heap in the woods just off the former rail bed of the Midland Terminal. Brick and rock enclosures built to house bears and wildcats at the zoo were the only remnants left until 2010, when they were dismantled in the wake of mining operations. In 2014, the City of Cripple Creek assisted in reconstructing the “caves” at the Cripple Creek District Museum. A small portion of Cameron’s grassy meadow survives at this writing, but it is fast being encroached on as mining in the area progresses.
